Bio

I was born and raised in the Macomb suburb of Detroit where I grew up with a pretty close knit immediate and extended family.  My love of learning started from an early age being raised in a family that pushed me to try a multitude of different things, whether it be food, sports, or visiting new and interesting places.  I knew I wanted to be a history teacher by the time I got to high school and had experienced a number of enlightening lessons from a wide range of history professors, especially my AP world history and Government teachers who showed me how current events and pop culture are limitless resources when it comes to teaching history.  While exploring this website, you'll learn about some of the ways I have incorporated these influences into my classroom as well as the ways that I am continually striving to grow as both an educator and lifelong learner.

In the gallery below, please take some time to learn some more about me both as an educator and as person.  Each of the images will include different aspects of my experience of how I got to where I am as well as introduce you to some of the people who helped make me into the man and educator that I am today.
